Machine 57V:

A comparable lever mechanism is utilized akin to that seen in folio 57R. However, in this case, there is just a single substantial lever, supplemented by a secondary one. This arrangement, though, restricts the lowering of the column. At a certain minimum angle the secondary lever collides with the column itself, while simultaneously, the left connection in the lever disengages from the lever. Moreover, the ring -like connection to the column operates similarly to the one depicted in folio 8R, which hampers precise vertical positioning. Yet, this can be rectified by exerting pressure on the bottom of the shaft to align it vertically.
